ARTIST APPLICATION

CALL FOR ARTISTS

The B1 Gallery programs up to 10 exciting exhibitions per year, spanning solo, collective and group shows. We are passionately committed to showcasing emerging artists, as well as established creatives. 

We invite artists working across ALL MEDIA to submit portfolios and exhibition proposals, using the FORM BELOW.

 

This is a chance to be considered for a rare and FULLY FUNDED exhibition opportunity in the heart of Vancouver, where your work can meet a broad and enthusiastic audience.

ABOUT THE APPLICATION PROCESS

All submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis, and juried by the B1 Gallery Committee, a group of volunteers from the local arts community. The committee curates a year-long program that reflects the kaleidoscopic diversity of Vancouver’s art and artists. 

Our team of enthusiastic creatives are passionate about platforming new work, and we support selected artists to deliver and install shows.

ABOUT THE SPACE

The B1 Gallery shares its home – The Beaumont Studios – with studios rented by over 100 artists and creative businesses, plus a vintage boutique, a digital radio station, and a vibrant calendar of events. This is an active and inclusive space where your work can connect with a wide variety of audiences.

WHAT TO KNOW

About Exhibiting

  • Exhibition space and set-up costs are fully funded by the B1 Gallery – there is no cost to artists to submit proposals, or be exhibited here
  • Our exhibitions run for 4-5 weeks, open daily from 9am-4pm, and The Beaumont is host to numerous private and public events that introduce your work to greater audiences and offer more exposure
  • Exhibition opening parties are fully funded by the B1 Gallery
  • Exhibitions are promoted on B1 Gallery channels and on the Beaumont Studios’ website, Facebook, Instagram and Showpass pages 
  • The B1 Gallery is a multi-configuration space, giving us the ability to custom-curate your show 
  • The space has a 25 x 25-foot floorplate, 8-foot walls, and a 50-person standing capacity
  • Our team supports production and installation, and we love to work collaboratively with our artists

About sales

  • Sales and commissions are handled by The Beaumont
  • 70% of all art sales go to the artist
  • Viewings by appointment are also available outside of gallery hours

About submitting

  • Submissions are open to all art disciplines
  • We consider solo or collective shows, and your work could be selected for a group show
  • All artists are welcome to submit, and the B1 is especially keen to showcase work by artists from currently and historically marginalized groups
